Due to continued business growth, we are now looking to add an experience Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Maintenanced Technician to the team in Weavergate.

Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining all LV, Electrical and Instrumentation equipment and control systems on the Weavergate site. You will be delivering results by having a broad range of technical skills and experience, offering flexibility and providing assistance to the Maintenance Manager in planning and scoping of work activities, etc. You will also be responsible for:

  • Understanding and complying with Site Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) requirements.
  • Carrying out Behavioural Safety Observations and give feedback to colleagues.
  • Preparation and use of Risk Assessments.
  • Reporting near misses, incidents and accidents to site management as soon as possible.
  • PLC and SCADA Programming and maintenance.
  • Maintenance of automated packaging equipment.
  • Instrumentation set up and maintenance.
  • Identification and implementation of improvement opportunities.
  • Working with suppliers and contractors to self-manage maintenance work.
  • Reporting of equipment repairs and inspection conclusions in the Computerised Maintenance Management System.
  • Participating, and running TPM projects to improve the Professional Maintenance on site.
  • Working to weekly maintenance schedules and ensuring activities are undertaken in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Providing support and training to site operational staff to improve equipment performance through autonomous maintenance.

Hours of work for this role need to be flexible depending on business need, these could be either days based or shift based. Current requirement is for a days based role. If shift working is required the site shift pattern is 16/5 following a rotating 2 shift pattern however this may change in the future up to and including 24/7 shifts. A suitable notification period will be provided when changing hours of work and remuneration will include the appropriate site shift allowance when on shifts.

The ideal Maintenance Technician:

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • Experience as a time served EC&I technician, minimum ONC, NVQ level 3 or equivalent in an EC&I discipline (suitable alterative experience will be considered).
  • Strong Safety experience, preferably with formal safety qualification (eg. NEBOSH).
  • Ability to work on own initiative, self-motivated and disciplined. Strong communication skills.
  • Strong trouble shooting and coaching skills.
  • Flexibility of working hours, willing to work additional hours as business requires.
  • COMPEX trained for hazardous area work; 17th Edition wiring regulations trained.
  • Knowledge of LV systems.
  • Experience of working on Chemical process equipment (instrumentation and control systems).
  • Experience of working on automated packaging equipment.
  • Experience of Root Cause Analysis techniques.
