Defence Consultant
Position Description
Be part of something challenging. We are looking for an experienced consultant with particular insight into secure Communications and Information Systems (CIS) used by UK MOD.
Given the nature of the topics and material with which you will engage, you will need to hold UK SC as a minimum and be eligible and prepared to hold Developed Vetting if not held already.
Your future duties and responsibilities
In your role as Defence SME you'll support current MOD engagements, identify adjacent opportunities and drive our position in key areas of secure operational and battlefield services. This are is likely to receive significant MOD and pan-government investment over the next years and you'll be at the heart of growing work in this area. You will report into and work closely with our Director of Consulting Services in our Defence Advice and Development team to drive our business forward. You'll also work closely with our Defence New Business team support key business development activities.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
As a Defence SME at CGI you'll need extensive knowledge of MOD acquisition processes and procedures ideally coupled with a range of contacts within the customer requirements and procurement communities. You will also need to be familiar with current MOD programmes.
You will most likely be currently engaged in a senior technical solution design role in a major defence IT company, as a senior/principal consultant in a defence/national security consulting organisation or be a recent leaver from HM Armed Services or Civil Service.
You will be regarded as a subject matter expert (SME) within the customer community and you should be able to demonstrate significant experience in the definition, implementation and/or use of MOD CIS systems/services. You should also have an understanding of technologies and solution architectures which will support flexible and agile secure CIS system/services in future.
