Overview:
First Military recruitment are currently recruiting for a LabVIEW Programmer/Developer on behalf of our client based in Gloucester. This is an excellent and exciting opportunity for either a junior or senior LabVIEW professional to work for a reputable software and mechatronics organisation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, interacting directly with customers to design and develop predominantly National Instruments LabVIEW based applications by:
* Programming memory and speed efficient applications using LabVIEW and Object Oriented Programming and Event-based architectures.
* Developing intuitive GUIs.
* Providing timely, accurate and effective solutions to technical problem.
* Providing guidance on the installation and working functionality of both software and hardware, including explanation of configuration setting.
* Reproducing and troubleshooting problems and incompatibilities in both software and hardware.
* Travel in the UK, occasional overseas.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Minimum 2.1 honours degree in engineering or science related field, such as Electrical/electronic engineering, physics, mechatronics or computer science.
* Minimum of LabVIEW qualification of Certified LabVIEW Developer, or capable of passing the exam within 3-6 months in house training.
* Minimum of one continuous year's practical experience in, instrumentation & control, industrial automation and ATE is required.
* Knowledge and experience of National Instruments embedded systems, including LabVIEW FPGA and LabVIEW Real Time.
* Experience with all National Instruments hardware platforms, including DAQmx, cRIO, PXI and SCXI.
* Experience of National Instruments visual toolkits advantageous.
* Experience in a second language of JAVA, C and C
