Transport Supervisor

Concorde Logistics has an exciting opportunity for a Transport Supervisor to join the team at our Magna Park Distribution Centre in Lutterworth, to ensure the department achieves the best possible level of service to internal and external customers. The successful candidate will be rewarded with £24,480 per annum + 10% non contractual bonus.

Concorde Logistics, part of the Steinhoff UK Retail Group, is an expert in the field of furniture home delivery and assembly. We have a network of over 8 Distribution Centres, responsible for delivering furniture to over 300,000 customers per year.

The successful Transport Supervisor will report to the Assistant Transport Manager and engage with colleagues at all levels to ensure that operational objective and KPIs are achieved. You will also liaise with drivers and other departments to ensure all loads are routed, loaded and despatched on time

Our Transport Supervisor will have the below responsibilities:

- To respond and resolve to customer queries quickly and effectively

- Proactively managing drivers to the daily plan

- Ensuring sufficient drivers are in place to meet business needs

- Pre-Brief Drivers to ensure that they fully understand their instructions.

- De-Brief Drivers upon their return to ensure that all documentation has been completed correctly.

- Manage WTD Compliance

- Ensuring all drivers download Driver cards for analysis daily

- Comply with all Transport legislation reducing tacho-graph infringements to below the company target and adhering to WTD regulations.

- Conduct regular meetings/ reviews including probation assessments and return to work interviews with drivers and driver mates

- Managing ad-hoc issues or escalation to the Assistant Transport Managers

- Provide administrative support and cover to the transport team

- Hold regular briefings with drivers

As our Transport Supervisor, you will possess the following experience and skills:

- Able to demonstrate high level Senior Coordinator skills

- Effective communication ability

- Computer literate, competent user of all Microsoft Office applications and transport systems 

- Takes ownership and demonstrates the ability to deal with complex issues effectively

- Has the ability to problem solve and apply lateral thinking as appropriate

- Has the ability to make decisions appropriate to the issue at hand.

- Has effective planning skills

- Able to prioritise workloads to meet competing and conflicting demands.

- Working knowledge of Transport operations legislation

- Works co-operatively and willingly with others to achieve common objectives

- People Management can lead and supervise the team effectively

- Has a sense of urgency and can work at pace diligently to achieve timelines

- Familiar with working within a high performance culture

- Effective Interpersonal and communication skills

In return, we offer £24,480 per annum plus 10% non-contractual bonus (paid in monthly increments), along with a welcoming and supportive working environment.
