Job Title: Purchasing and Stock Coordinator
Location: Reading, Berkshire
Salary: £24,000 - £26,000 per annum (depending on skills & experience)
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent role with 22 days holiday pro rata, plus public and bank holidays.
Hours: Mon-Fri within usual office hours -exact timing to be negotiated
Job Role:
Due to the expansion and restructuring of a market leader in the outdoor furniture industry, an opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Purchasing and Stock Coordinator to join our Client's team.
The role will have overall responsibility for companywide purchasing of stock, control and analysis of both UK and overseas supply chains and active inventory management over three locations.
Main Responsibilities:
- New supplier sourcing & engagement
- Achieving cost saving via supplier negotiation and managing good relationships with key supply partners
- Maintaining a computerised purchasing database, chase quotations, place purchase orders, agree delivery schedules
- Cost and supplier analysis and report writing
- Working closely with other members of the team to ensure that orders are progressed with maximum efficiency and in line with customer requirements
- Follow up delivery discrepancies
- Liaising with transport companies
- Bill of materials analysis and administration
- Setting up new item cards
- Creating barcodes for new item lines
- Stock journal preparation
- Import administration
- Yearly stock take assistance - input, analysis and investigation of full stock check figures
- Quality control checks as required
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the ideal candidate will have commercial experience within a purchasing/buying/stock control environment and possess excellent communication skills to aid negotiation of commercial terms with suppliers.
The candidate must be hard working, professional and able to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines. High levels of accuracy, attention to detail and confidentiality are required. Our Client is a growing company and the role would be well suited to a self-motivated individual who is keen to progress and learn new skills, with a flexible attitude
Administration, excel and outlook skills required. The ability to speak Mandarin would be advantageous but not essential.
