Enterprise Coordinator (Job ref: 045)
Fixed Term to August 2018
(with potential to be extended to August 2020)
Salary: GBP30,000 + depending upon experience
Location: North Lancashire
We are currently recruiting a full time Enterprise Coordinator in partnership with the Lancashire Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and the Careers and Enterprise Company to grow the Lancashire Enterprise Adviser Network across the North of Lancashire, including Lancaster and Morecambe, Wyre and Preston. The network is part of a national network of Enterprise Coordinators, co-funded by LEPs across the Country and the Careers and Enterprise Company (see: ).
To-date 67 schools in Lancashire are engaged, and we want to grow this to 120. The Coordinator will engage senior leaders in schools and colleges, and match them with local strategic leaders to develop careers and enterprise development plans which drive up the number of employer encounters that young people experience. Each Coordinator works with approximately 20-22 schools. To-date there are 3 Enterprise Coordinators in Lancashire - we are recruiting another one now, and will be recruiting 2 more over the Summer to join us in September.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a national movement and network of Enterprise Coordinators across Lancashire and the Country. Whilst the contract is currently advertised to August 2018, there is potential for the contract to be extended to August 2020.
Main responsibilities of the role include:
Working with local employers, the self-employed and business groups to recruit volunteer Enterprise Advisers to match with secondary schools in the required areas;
Equipping the Enterprise Advisers with the resources and contacts that they need to fulfil the role and help them make the best use of the opportunities available;
Promoting and sharing leading practice across the cluster of schools;
Evaluating and reporting on progress.
The role requires an enthusiastic and determined person who can work independently with a positive, can-do attitude. Strong communication, influencing and engagement skills are essential. The ability to work in an organised manner and coordinate projects is required along with data management and data analysis skills. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an appreciation of what motivates young people as well as an understanding of employers of different sizes.
A degree or level 4 professional qualification is essential and a project management qualification would be advantageous. Experience and knowledge of the education system and local labour market is essential.
For further details, and to apply, go to
Closing date: 9am on 5th June 2017.
Interviews will take place on Tuesday 13th June.
[Candidates shortlisted to attend interview will be notified via email by 8th June]
