Principal Teachers are currently working in partnership with a secondary school in the Harrogate area. The Head Teacher has approached PT to recruit a Girls' PE Teacher on their behalf to commence a full time role after the May half term or as soon as possible. The vacancy is available on an on going basis with the view to permanency. The successful applicant will be required to teach a stimulating and imaginative curriculum to Years 8 and 9.
Graded 'Outstanding' by Ofsted, the school has excellent sports and outdoor facilities and an excellent reputation. The Head Teacher is seeking a professional, who can motivate girls in KS3 to achieve their full potential and instil a love of physical education. You will need to demonstrate a commitment to participating in the wider life of the school and there will be many opportunities to offer extra curricular activities. The PE Department is well resourced and staff within the department are talented, enthusiastic professionals and are seeking a teacher, who will fit well into the team.
The successful applicant will have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recognisable in the UK
Strong behaviour and classroom management skills
Previous experience of teaching in an education setting in the UK
Knowledge of the current Secondary National Curriculum requirements for PE
Enthusiasm for the role and a creative flare
The ability to form excellent working relationships with staff and pupils from a diverse range of backgrounds
Experience of planning and assessment to a very high standard
A commitment to improving attainment for all students
A proven track record for raising attainment and achieving targets
