Welder / Surface Finish Technician
This successful Hygienic pump company is looking for an experienced Welder / Surface Finish Technician to fill a permanent position in the Workshop.
The Welder / Surface Finish Technician is responsible for all welding and suface finish of materials and parts for the company. Applicants will be fully conversant and coded for Tig stainless tube welding.
Responsibilities/Key Result Areas:
- Component Picking - Obtain parts and transact stock movement on JDE (Computer). Add Parts Identification to component (Serial no & Melt ID engraving)
- Specifications and Drawings - Review and inspect parts and dimensions to documentation
- Welding - Position, Tack and Pulse Weld ?? " to 6" (1.4mm gauge) port connections to Pump Rotorcase (transact times on RF Smart)
- Weld Clean - Grind and clean-up the port weld
- Improved finishes - Mechanically polish and improve surface finish of stainless parts to a measured finish. Record measurements on database
- Inspection - Examine and inspect weld integrity and aesthetics, may include Dye Penetration
- Repairs - Support production with the weld (fill holes), repair and surface clean-up of component parts
- Baseplates - Welding of fixings and cross bracing
- Equipment, Work station and Supplies - Routine inspection, maintenance, Cleaning and reordering of supplies
- Health & Safety - Maintain a clean and safe work environment for self and others, adhering to all Health and Safety procedures
- Adhere to the IDEX antitrust policy and Ethical Guides
- Other duties as needed / required
Qualifications, Skills and Behaviour:
- Ability to read drawings and use Measuring equipment
- Coded for TIG Stainless Tube Welding
- Idea Generator - Develops and simplifies existing practices & processes
