JOB TITLE: Care & Support Worker
SALARY & BENEFITS: GBP10.16 per hour
WORKING HOURS: 15 hours per week Mon - Fri 5pm - 8pm
THE COMPANY: A charitable Housing Association (who specialise in Supported Housing for the elderly) has a vacancy for a Carer & Support Worker in the Haywards Heath area.
THE ROLE: The role of Care & Support Worker will be the responsible individual on site to ensure that the aims and objectives of the Scheme are met and the operational and management policies are adhered to. This is a part time role where you will be lone working.
Key Responsibilities of the Care & Support Worker :
To provide support and assistance to the House Manager to ensure the physical, mental and social well-being of the tenants.
Under the general policies and procedures of management, to promote, protect and respect individual tenants' right to privacy, dignity, self-determination and choice.
To communicate sensitively with all tenants, endeavouring to maintain and improve their level of functioning providing:
A supportive environment, to meet their individual needs
Positive moral and emotional support as necessary
Positive encouragement to live as independently as possible, enhancing their quality of life
THE CANDIDATE: The successor candidate for the role of Care & Support Worker based in Haywards Heath will have NVQ 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent qualification) with experience of working in a care / residential or sheltered accommodation environment. You will have a caring and sensitive personality with the ability to demonstrate compassion, respect and empathy for all residents.
Key experience essential for the Care & Support Worker role:
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
Caring and sensitive personality
Ability to demonstrate compassion, respect and empathy to caring for older people
