Accounts Receivable Team Leader

ROLE PURPOSE
Management of a team of Sales Ledger Controllers to meet performance targets and deliver customer service standards whilst developing positive relationships with all key stakeholders and drive continuous improvement. Responsible for people management and development.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Accountable for delivering and evidencing robust performance management practices within the team, developing a coaching culture with positive performance and behavioural results
Conduct monthly 121's with each team colleague across a large team. These are to review individual performance and their development plans
To assist in the recruitment of new team colleagues and all HR associated processes. Responsible for supporting the team to deliver financial, productivity and quality targets and developing a culture of high performance
To be accountable for minimising misallocations and ensuring delivery to SLAs
Manage and oversee the reduction of unallocated cash number, whilst ensuring correct and timely allocation of customer payments in accordance with Group Allocation Policy
Change Champion, actively and positively supporting continuous improvement within the department.
Collaborative approach to working with key colleagues in Treasury, Credit Control and Cash and Banking Team Leader.

PERSON SPECIFICATION (Attributes against which candidates will be recruited.)

Essential
Qualified by experience in a finance based role.
Experience Good understanding of sales ledger, cash and banking roles and experience of managing at least 10 people
Skills Computer literate. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office in particular Word and Excel
Knowledge Accounting process, Governance and controls
Other Attributes Confident decision maker, multi-tasker and able to learn and adapt quickly


Preferred
Hold a related financial or accounting qualification.
Extensive experience in a similar role.
Advanced excel and data analysis skills.


COMPLEXITY OF ROLE
This position has responsibility for a large team of around 10 individuals. They will be required to carry out daily people manager activities such as regular 1 to 1s and coaching the team whilst driving the performance and results. The role has responsibility and accountability for the overall banking which amounts to £20m. This is a fast moving team and this role has responsibility for overseeing the swift and accurate processing of payments on a daily basis. The role is also required to ensure that customer accounts on the Sales Ledger are maintained in good order and has responsibility and accountability for achieving unallocated cash targets. Should any complex people issues arise such as poor performance or conduct they will be required to carry out the HR process with this individual.
