National Training Manager (Early Years Childcare)

Location: Head Office, Huddersfield

Salary: Band E £32,000 to £34,847

Hours: Full time (37 hours per week)

This is a fantastic opportunity to join NDNA, the national charity for children’s nurseries, to provide business support to local nurseries identified as a priority by the local authority to develop, reshape and create new childcare places.

As National Training Manager you will play a key role in working with the departmental Director to identify and steer development and delivery of training programmes, projects and contracts.  The National Training Manager leads on managing the overarching quality control and delivery of a flexible portfolio of accredited, non-accredited and endorsed programmes to support the development of the early years workforce across England, Wales and Scotland.

You will oversee contracts delivered by the department and will have budget and staff management responsibilities.

National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) is the national charity and membership association representing children’s day nurseries across the UK, giving them information, training and support so they can provide the best possible learning and care for young children. NDNA is the voice of the day nursery sector, an integral part of the lives of one million children and their families. NDNA works with local and national government to develop an environment in which quality early learning and care can flourish.

Skills and Experience:

  • Qualification in Adult Education; ideally a Degree in Early Years, PGCE/CertEd or Training and Development/Learning and Development Level 4
  • Project management / Programme and project planning skills
  • Knowledge of Early Years and childcare in relation to qualification and policy
  • Sound understanding of the adult learning inspection processes
  • Management of a training department including managing a training delivery team and monitoring performance against targets
  • Experience of training needs analysis and action planning for learning
