JOB TITLE: Trainee Maintenance Engineer

SALARY & BENEFITS: GBPDependent on Experience + Full in house and external training, Uniform, Vehicle, Mobile, Laptop, Test Equipment, PPE, Loyalty Holiday Scheme, Christmas Shutdown, PRP Bonus scheme in development & a pension option

WORKING HOURS: Full Time - 37.5 Hour basic week (Monday to Friday) plus regular overtime

Due to continued growth, they are looking to expand their existing team with the addition of a highly motivated and career minded individual to assist with pre planned and statutory maintenance works.

THE ROLE: Due to a recent internal promotion, our client are looking to expand their existing field services team with the addition of a highly motivated and career minded individual to train as a maintenance engineer.

This role will be based from home and offer the successful candidate the opportunity to travel around the UK receiving full training on a wide range of life safety system and equipment types, whilst assisting in the delivery of high quality services to a number of blue chip client sites.

Key Responsibilities:-
To work fully supervised learning how to deliver various statutory maintenance tasks as directed by the office and field management team in accordance with company procedures
To complete electronic reporting in accordance with Company procedures
To improve personal work skills through theoretical and practical in field and external industry regulated training
To always present and conduct oneself appropriately given the nature and importance of their maintenance clients

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate will have a technical mind with the desire and drive to progress within the fire protection industry. You will have excellent communication skills and have the ability to work well as part of a team. No experience is required but would be preferred.

A comprehensive package of training is provided and tailored to the individual needs of the successful
candidate, based upon their previous experience and qualifications.

Key skills and experience:-
• You must hold a full driving licence suitable for UK use, maximum of 3 penalty points
• A working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel & emails
• Enthusiastic and proactive with a flexible approach
• Willingness and drive to succeed to further progress within you career
• An interest & basic knowledge of electronic engineering, particularly life safety systems such as Fire Alarms, Emergency Lighting & PAVA
• Fluent in English, ideally as a first language
• Highly motivated
• A fluent and confident communicator, both verbally and in writing

Desirable Criteria:
• Grade C GCSE or above equivalent in Maths, English and any technical related subject
• City & Guilds 231 Electrical Parts 1 & 2 / IEEE 17th Edition / ONC in Electronic Engineering or equivalent
• Any previous knowledge or understanding of fire alarms and / or emergency lighting
• Previous experience of writing any Word or Excel documents with high attention to detail and accuracy

A supplementary industry recognised external training package will also be provided and tailored to the individual needs of the successful candidate, based upon their previous experience, qualifications and skills.
