Job Title: Planning & Housing Monitoring Officer

Location: Gainsborough

Salary: Band 6-7 £19,430 to £24,964 per annum (subject to Job Evaluation)

Job Type: Full Time, Fixed term position for 3 years (37 hours per week)

Job Role:

West Lindsey is a large and predominantly rural district with a rich heritage and stunning landscape that provides an attractive setting for its three market towns of Caistor, Gainsborough and Market Rasen. As a key role in the Planning and Housing teams this new post requires an enthusiastic and professional approach to managing a busy and varied workload. These teams are at the heart of delivering the district's growth and this technical role will be the lead officer for monitoring the supply and delivery of new homes across the district, and include; preparing and submitting statutory monitoring returns, producing an Annual Monitoring Report and devising innovative ways of producing other internal and external reports to show how well the Council is achieving its growth targets, meeting policy objectives and collecting financial obligations from developers.

The new Central Lincolnshire Local Plan has recently been adopted and establishes one of the most ambitious growth agendas, covering one of largest geographic areas, of any local plan nationally. The post holder will be required to work closely with motoring officers at the other Councils forming the Central Lincolnshire partnership to ensure data is collected, recorded and shared consistently across the four councils.

Knowledge of planning or housing policy in a local authority environment would be a distinct advantage. Having demonstrable technical skills, an ability to record and interrogate data to produce accurate written reports to suit a range of audiences, plus a commitment to delivering high quality services is paramount to the success of this role. The post holder will also be required to travel to new housing sites as part of this role.
