JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Hourly Paid Trainer/Assessor in Information Telecoms Professional

Regulated Activity: Yes

Responsible to: Business Delivery Manager

Line Management of other staff: No

Location: Colchester

Hourly Rate: GBP13.76

Main Tasks:

1. To train and assess candidates towards agreed accredited qualifications or standards in the workplace, online and through college attendance.

2. To work with employers and college staff as appropriate to ensure that the requirements of the apprenticeship standards are applied and met.

3. To liaise with college staff, Internal Verifiers, other assessors and representatives of the awarding body in order to maintain standards.

4. Undertake administration duties that relate to the responsibilities identified above.

5. To liaise regularly and effectively with employers to ensure that the apprenticeship delivery meets their needs.

6. To guide learners in respect of their progress, including carrying out regular progression reviews and target setting.

7. To monitor and report on progress of apprentices both in the work place and in college.

8. To keep and maintain accurate records and documentation

9. To complete appropriate awarding body documentation and ensure compliance of required procedures.

10. To maintain and enhance the quality of programme and subject delivery

11. To assist in meeting learner number targets.

12. To oversee the use of equipment in college workshops and take responsibility for the quality, safety and care of such.

13. To actively promote the Faculty's programmes, attend careers events, school visits and similar marketing and publicity activities.

14. Work to promote and apply the College's Equality and Diversity Policy and Practices.

15. Work to promote and apply the College's Safeguarding policy and practices.

16. To observe the College's Health & Safety policies and practices.

17. To undertake such other duties as may be required by or on behalf of Colchester Institute provided that they are consistent with the nature of the post.
