Data Consultant - Investment Operations, Investment Banking, Funds required for initial 6-month contract with financial services client based in Edinburgh

Our client has a fantastic contract opportunity for a highly analytical Data Consultant to join their Investment Operations team. The client has recently taken over two new businesses and this role will be working on complex data related to these takeovers. The data produced will be used in operational and corporate communications which affect the whole business and their customers so a significantly high level of accuracy and attention to detail is an essential criteria of the role.

Essential Skills

• Excellent data analysis skills - able to handle large, complex spreadsheets and datasets
• Able to confidently interrogate and challenge data
• Able to identify discrepancies and advise thereafter, guaranteeing 100% accuracy
• Able to complete or review complex calculations/invoices
• Experience in procedural reviews and adjustments
• Ability to interpret complicated financial information
• Experience in writing financial research summaries and making informed recommendations
• Able to collate detailed, up-to-date information about the UK economy and financial markets with strong understanding of investment banking
• Demonstrate ability to understand decimal proof points
• Rigorous data and risk analysis
