Opportunity to introduce food with the support from Admiral Taverns catering team
Well-known for its function trade
Trading style
The Darfield trades as a community pub catering to the locals. The pub has benefited hugely from private functions with the 'over 60s' often utilising the function room on a Tuesday evening to hold bingo and quiz nights. Karaoke and disco nights are held on Friday evenings, and live acts on Saturday evenings. Admiral Taverns are looking for applicants who are familiar with the area and have the passion and enthusiasm to drive this business forward. They will need to engage with the local community and offer a jam packed entertainment programme throughout the week from quiz nights, sports teams, bingo nights and entertainment at weekends. The pub has previously offered food and this will need to be re-introduced with a value for food offer. Live sport has also been shown in the past and this could be re-introduced.
Trade accomodation
The Darfield's entrance consists of a corridor, where the ladies and gents toilets are located. To the left is a function room that can seat 60 people, but can hold up to 80. This area has a DJ booth and a large screen TV. The bar servery splits the function room and bar area which is located to the right hand side and has a large snooker table and darts board. This area also has additional seating and is more frequently used by the locals. There is a catering kitchen located to the rear of the bar which is fully equipped and ready to use. The cellar is accessed from the kitchen. The pub is in excellent condition throughout. Externally there is a car park for up to 25 cars and to the rear of the pub is a beer garden with benches which is popular in the summer months.
Private accomodation
The private accommodation is located on the ground floor and consists of three bedrooms, lounge, kitchen, bathroom all in good order. Outside there is also a private garden for the licensees.
