An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Credit Risk Policy Specialist. You will ensure robust Credit Risk policies exist, across the full credit risk lifecycle, for the Group's lending portfolios, to ensure effective prudential risk management and good customer outcomes whilst enabling well governed and scalable growth. Your main responsibilities will include, but not limited to;

* Delivering credit risk policy changes, to meet the highest standards of prudential and conduct risk management, whilst maintaining an appropriate balance with commercial and operational objectives.
* Supporting credit risk policy changes initiated by other areas, by providing credit risk subject matter expertise, challenge and review, such that the proposal can be supported by Credit Risk and approved by the appropriate governance forums.
* Proactively reviewing and updating credit risk policies owned by the team, ensuring all governance commitments are met and that policies meet the highest standards of prudential and conduct risk management, whilst maintaining an appropriate balance with commercial and operational objectives.
* Providing support and analysis to the Credit Risk Policy Manager, to, in line with the Group's Risk Management Strategy document, determine the credit risk management strategy for all of the Group's live lending portfolios (i.e. should the Group be risk seeking, risk neutral or risk averse) to provide strategic direction to the Group's business delivery functions.
* Determining for closed portfolios, whether the level of credit risk management capability is appropriate to manage the latent credit risks within those portfolios.
* Proactively ensuring benchmarking data and information is appropriately used in all credit risk activities and is adding strategic value, both within the team and across the Group, engaging with other departments as required.
* Ensuring all reporting to line management, Executive Risk Committees, Board and other recipients delivers useful and robust insight into current performance against expectations, opportunities for improvement, and forward-looking risks.

* Understanding or knowledge of the business, legal, regulatory and ethical framework relating to the financial services industry.
* Wider knowledge of quality assurance and risk management.
