A leading FMCG Manufacturing firm based in Greater Manchester are looking for a group buyer to join their team. You will be joining a challenging, fast paced and international environment, working alongside a great team ensuring supply of raw materials at the best possible value and sourcing products strategically within defined targets.
The role:
* Build on, set up and validate purchasing strategies for the products you are responsible for
* Identify and build relationships with key suppliers of your raw materials
* Drive value and negotiate terms with suppliers, liaise with business and advise best suppliers
* Identify key stakeholders and build relationships in order to complete projects assigned to you
* Support Group Purchasing Manager
* Identify and understand problems as they arise, be solutions focused and recognise at when to escalate
* Know the market around your products and react to changes proactively
* Hit KPI's based on cost, cash, quality, service and continuity of supply for your products
* Report activity to understand performance and impact on business
Your requirements:
* Degree qualification in Purchasing, Business or Economics is preferred but not essential
* Fluency in English
* Demonstrated very good communication and negotiation skills
* Be self motivated, driven and possess good business acumen
