Our client a main contractor on Scottish Water is looking for several Graduate Engineers within the water industry to join their growing team in the Glasgow area starting on a long-term contract with a view that it can go permanent paying between GBP19k to GBP22k per annum depending on experience.

The is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience and training within the water sector where you will develop designs, assist senior engineers and attend recommended training courses.

The Company is a leading international multi-disciplinary consultancy, employing over 5,000 staff worldwide and are quoted on the London Stock Exchange.

They work for all the UK water and sewerage companies and most of the water-only companies. Services include Water Networks, Drainage, Software Solutions, Surveying, Design, Leakage Consultancy, Water Resources and Efficiency, Flood Risk and the Water Environment and Customer Service

Role Summary:
??Assist in developing designs, drawings and specifications for engineering projects
??Use a range of computer packages for developing detailed designs
??Comply with the company's HSE and Quality Policies at all times
??Attend recommended training courses to assist with personal development as required by the company
??Prepare design calculations, drawings, technical documents and reports in accordance with current standards
??Conduct problem solving and escalate any issues
??Liaise with design team members
??Assist Senior Engineer/Design Engineer with any other needs or requirements of the business
??Work in collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design
??Perform required activities associated with projects (investigation, analysis and design)

Other responsibilities
You will maintain ongoing communication with relevant Project Leaders/Team Leaders, and clients when required, to ensure effective communications to the project

??Promote good working practices
??Maintain high technical standards
??Undertake own continuing professional development under guidance from Senior Engineer
??Liaise with clients' technical staff when necessary

Essential Experience/Qualifications
??BSc Civil/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
??Computer literate - Proficiency with Microsoft Office packages
??Ability to work well both in a team and independently
??Strong communication skills - both written and oral
??Highly organised and able to multi-task
??A desire to work in the Water sector
??Ability to prioritise and manage conflicting demands
??Basic knowledge of AutoCAD/GIS Systems
??Desire to develop existing skills and acquire new technical competences to enhance personal and team capability
??Self-motivated with the drive to achieve continuous improvement targets
??Dedicated approach to meet project deadlines
??Ability to think methodically and attention to detail
??Proactive and motivated to develop technical knowledge and experience
