Machining Project Engineer

A unique and interesting position has become available for a Machining Project Engineer to work with one of the UK's foremost Automotive Manufacturing companies based in Swindon, Wiltshire.

As Machining Project Engineer you will be joining this globally renowned Automotive manufacturer on a 12 month fixed term contract - reporting into the Engineering Project Manager, the main purpose of this role is to lead the introduction and modifications of a new engine into the machining department, both cylinder head & block.

This is a superb opportunity to be part of a small project team that is supporting a world class manufacturing facility in upgrading their engine build capacity to enable them to facilitate the build of a new engine model.

Your success in this role will be measured through the completion of the project which will allow the company to mass produce parts to a repeatable quality standard.

Main responsibilities:

*Working with the wider Engineering team to review specifications concepts and final designs to track their progress on the project plan and reporting back to the Engineering Project Manger
*Liaising with contractors to ensure permits to work, method statements and risk assessments are in place
*Supervising contractors and signing off completed works
*Overseeing Engine Plant trials and quality maturation
*Populating and maintaining project related documentation in accordance with time scales
*Presenting business cases up to senior management level to gain sign off

To be considered for the position of Machining Project Engineer you must:

*Qualified to at least HND level or equivalent
*Strong CDM, PUWER and CE compliance knowledge
*Project Management experience
*Proven experience of creating and delivering presentations to senior managers
*Excellent control of project schedules and project files
*Working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Projects

If you hold relevant experience in CNC programming this is highly advantageous
