Mechanical Technician (FM)
A leading FM provider are looking for a Mechanically biased, Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician to be based at their client site near Macclesfield.
You will undertake repairs and PPM tasks relating to Boilers, Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and General Building elements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
?? Support the Engineering Supervisor in the safe operation and maintenance of all plant, equipment and installations establishing efficient and effective teams with high performance standards.
?? Take a proactive attitude in identification and resolution of defects.
?? Undertake installation / maintenance / repair work as required.
?? Completion of all necessary paperwork to support tasks and provide an audit trail of contractual and legislative compliance including risk assessment and method statement review for all contractors.
?? Work monitoring and control ensuring safe conditions for all contract staff to work in.
?? Ensure the customer is communicated to effectively before any activity that will have an impact on the site staff or facilities.
?? Maintain contractor, O&M and service records.
?? Help implement and maintain business and process improvement into all areas.
?? Maintain compliance with statutory requirements, all relevant Health & Safety Legislation and site specific policies, issue and closure of permits.
?? Ensure the customer is communicated to effectively before any activity that will have an impact on the site staff or facilities.
?? Support and uphold company and client values when communicating with all parties.
?? Willing to use access equipment for working at heights (training will be provided as required).
What we are looking for:
?? Mechanically qualified with at least one of the following qualifications; City and Guilds in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning, City and Guilds F-Gas Certificate, Gas Safe Commercial and Domestic.
?? Demonstrates a high level of competence in one of the other disciplines above with a view to obtaining the full qualification (at the companys expense).
?? Basic competence in Electrical and Controls systems associated with Mechanical Services.
?? Able to diagnose faults and put forward appropriate rectification measures.
?? Flexible attitude to work individually and working as part of a team.
?? Hold a valid UK driving licence.
?? Excellent client relationship management skills.
?? A general understanding of other building construction trades.
?? Additional qualifications and experience in other building related trades would be advantageous e.g. Asbestos Awareness, Legionella awareness, IOSH Management safety etc.
?? Willing to participate in a call duty roster (approx. 1 in 4, guaranteed 4 hours payment + allowance).
