The successful candidate will be developing business with new and current customers in order to generate sales across the business.
The role requires a self-starter who is able to build fast, strong lasting relationships with the customer base as well as maintaining a high level of interaction to develop an effective working relationship with the assigned internal support people in the company.
Principle Accountabilities
Manage personal account base to achieve personal budgets and generate orders by visiting customers, by telephone and other forms of communication.
Ensure customer profiles and all activity information is up to date within the system, e.g. Visit Reports - Projects - customer information and data base.
Undertake regular communication by phone or in person to present the capabilities of the company to the customer and create the opportunity to quote.
Devise a Demand Creation Strategy by customer. Discuss at a Technical level competencies across the 3 divisions and find solutions to customers projects.
Qualify the RFQ in line with Engineering Core competencies and work with the specific division(s) to determine effective pricing and delivery to ensure the booking of the business.
To be a proactive self-starter able to initiate calls and manage own work functionalities.
Undertake cyclical customer visits to support account penetration and customer relationship management.
Develop effective working relationships with all internal people in the business with particular emphasis on the GM's Senior Technical People, Estimating, and Credit team.
Ensure a high level of service by being responsive to the end customer needs and maintaining a watchful eye on strategic business to ensure On Time Delivery / Order Book Management.
Ensure regular communication with line manager and maintain a high touch rate with respect to ongoing sales activity in the defined accounts.
Attend regular business reviews with line manager and senior members within the team.
Attend Trade shows or the need to travel extensively at short notice and be able to stay away from home on a regular basis as the demands of the role dictate.
Additional Projects or duties as management at time may require
Knowledge Skills and Experience
A comprehensive knowledge of the Electronics industry and end customer base market place.
Proven sales record within the company or another similar company, whereby a consistent high level of sales and a focused account base were actively demonstrated. Preferably educated to degree standard.
Clear Communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
Commercially astute, highly organized and self- motivated.
Able to work under own initiative, be a self- starter, extremely focused achieving the end result.
Achieved a pre- determined sales target consistently over a pre-agreed time frame
