Automation Systems Test Engineer (C++/Linux)

A venture capitalist funded, med tech start up business in Oxford is seeking an Automation Systems Test Engineer (C++, Linux) who would like to be the first appointment within this department as this life saving technology provider continues to expand. This is an exciting role that would suit a technical testing professional that is ready to take the next step in their testing career.

As the Automation System Test Engineer (C++, Linux) you will be responsible for developing and introducing systems and tools to test the software and platform. You will have the opportunity to own the automated test environment and you will work closely with the leadership team to understand the strategy and make suggestions for improvement.

ROLE: Automation Systems Test Engineer (C++/Linux)
SALARY: GBP40,000 - GBP50,000 depending on experience + 25 days holiday, flexible working environment
LOCATION: Oxford - commutable from Bicester, Swindon, Reading, Aylesbury, Banbury, Whitney, Abingdon, Headington, Wallingford, Henley-On-Thames

The Automation Systems Test Engineer (C++, Linux) role will involve testing the product from end to end using a combination of automation tools and manual testing, across a wide variety of technologies, environments and platforms:

-C++ systems running on Linux and Windows
-Inter-process and network communications
-Web application interfaces
-Data storage components

Skills, experience and personal qualities:

-Linux
-Automated test writing
-Integration testing
-Scripting experience (ideally Bash or python)
-Understanding of C++
-A pragmatic, 80/20 approach to testing and prioritisation
-Ready to take the lead on testing and ultimately build a team

Desirable skills:

-Jenkins
-Ruby
-Selenium
-Algorithm testing
-H T Condor
