Female Personal Support Worker (Spanish Speaking)

Centre 404 is a friendly, local and thriving charity with an excellent reputation for providing high quality support and services to people with learning disabilities and their families.

We are looking for a practical, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to work with a Spanish-speaking lady who lives largely independently and requires support for up to 6 hours per week.  For the successful candidate(s) there will be the possibility of additional hours working with other service users with a variety of different levels and types of needs, so the position is in no way limited to 6 hours per week, and we would welcome applications from people looking for more than 6 hours per week.

The successful candidate will provide support to enable the service user with a wide variety of tasks around managing her day-to-day life. The post holder must have excellent communication skills and speak fluent Spanish, with the ability to develop and maintain an effective relationship and rapport with the service user, as well as being key to facilitating the communication between the service user and other professionals, both within and external to Centre 404.

The person you will be supporting has a mild learning disability, and will benefit from a support worker who is flexible and has a sensitive and positive attitude, and is skilled in problem-solving.  This rewarding post could offer the right candidate the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and confidence in working within the social care sector and specifically working with people with learning disabilities. 

Centre 404 is fully committed to staff development and supervision and will provide a detailed induction and on-going training and support to learn everything needed to be a great support worker.
