LOCATION: Newtown, Powys
JOB TITLE: Production Test Engineer
SALARY & BENEFITS: Dependent on Experience
WORKING HOURS: Monday - Thursday 8-5 & Friday 8-1
THE COMPANY: Our client is an independent business unit that is responsible for the design and manufacture of a broad range of generators. These products are complimentary to their own Construction and Agricultural range and in appropriate sizes use their own engine range. They also allow their products to enter new market sectors as well as developing a wider distribution and customer base.
THE ROLE: An opportunity has arisen for a Production Test Engineer to join the production team at our Newtown facility. This will involve factory based testing of diesel generators, including load testing, testing of mechanical and electrical options and fault finding.
Key Responsibilities of a Production Test Engineer to include:-
Production Load Testing of Completed Generator Sets following test procedures
Individually testing each option fitted to the Generator following test procedures.
Fault Finding and fixing/instructing required fix of problems that arise.
Completing Test Certificate Documentation.
Maintain product continuity and quality.
Work to Mechanical Drawings and Electrical Schematics.
Follow and complete Job Traveller Paperwork.
Work to Task List and Complete jobs using Software Based Production System.
THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate will need to be a hard worker and able to work within a team and follow instructions. Ideally you will have a City & Guilds, NVQ, BTEC or equivalent in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering however if you have previous experience working within a similar role this is not essential.
Key experience essential for the Production Test Engineer role:
Knowledge of basic AC/DC Electrics, relays & Solenoids, Experience of reading mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
Mechanical Assembly Fitting experience
Previous experience of Electrical Wiring
Basic I.T skills & numeracy skills.
Experience in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering disciplines.
