This opportunity is based in our state-of-the-art office in Edinburgh. The role will focus on the daily shipping activities at our warehouse and will utilise your regulatory knowledge as well as your documentation skills. This is an opportunity to strive for continuous improvement in processes and procedures and use your export knowledge to support the business.
Position Responsibilities
- Perform basic Inventory Control functions such as receiving FG material into systems, cycle counting and general warehouse maintenance
- Actively seek improvements in processes and procedures as it pertains to shipping of products from various warehouses and internal customers
- Ability to handle a large volume of emails and prioritize them for importance
- Continuous awareness and knowledge of international trade laws and regulation, including but not limited to: UK Trade Tariff, U.K. Export Controls, Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
- Conduct routine internal audits to insure correct documentation for HMRC
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Experience with transportation modes such as air express and ground transportation
- Experience with international trade compliance, import/export laws and regulations
- Knowledge of how to apply the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), ECCN, INCOTERMS and Free Trade Agreements with regard to corporate transportation needs
- Ability to prioritize tasks with little management guidance
- Effective organisational agility to go through the proper channels to get things done
- Ability to identify complex problems and review information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
- Ability to simplify complex processes and to organize activities around them
- Highest levels of personal integrity and ethical responsibility
Desired Skills and Qualifications
- HNC/D qualification or above
