Midland Heart now has a fantastic opportunity for a Support Worker to join our Supported Living service at our South Road House, Birmingham scheme.
Title: Support Worker
Location: South Road House, Birmingham
Hours: 39 Hours per Week (Full Time)
Salary: £17,682 per annum
South Road House is a supported housing scheme for single men over the age of 21 who have additional support needs. The service has 27 bed spaces and offers Supporting People funded housing related support to enable people to move towards and achieve independent living. We undertake a comprehensive risk and needs assessment with each customer to provide appropriate support and address individual needs and identify the most appropriate move on options.
As a Support Worker you are responsible to provide a high quality support service to all customers in identified areas of need. Providing the support enables them to maintain their accommodation and a view onto moving to sustained independent living. You will need to identify problems and needs to work with customers and colleagues to provide appropriate and innovative solutions. While supporting customers you will also provide housing related support which will be delivered based on the current eligibility criteria and evidence all work which is completed through clear documentation.
We are looking for people who:
- Have a passion for caring for vulnerable people with high quality care
- Have experience with all types of communication with a variety of customers
- Have a high understanding of homelessness and how they could be addressed
