QC Quality Control Chemist

QC Quality Control Chemist, Temporary 6 Month Contract, Daventry, Northamptonshire

A leading manufacturing company are recruiting for a Temporary QC Quality Control Chemist based in Daventry, Northamptonshire.

Overview:

The position is for a 6 month contract to cover a period of leave.

• The ideal candidate will have a tenacious, problem solving nature, attention to detail and a proactive approach to Quality Control.
• Working to ISO standards
• Undertaking quality control assessments for all products manufactured.
• Previous experience working to a Quality Management System is not essential but would be advantageous.

Responsibilities:

• Product quality control testing,
• Analytical analysis for quality control including wet chemistry techniques and ICP-AES.
• Manufacturing support.
• Investigation of complaints.
• Sample manufacture.
• Ensure accurate records are kept of all laboratory work.
• Maintaining the upkeep and appearance of the QC and Analytical laboratories.
• Purchasing laboratory consumables and general supplies.
• Complying with ISO9001, ISO14001, and HSE legislation.
• Monthly reporting of QC performance.
• Responsible for maintaining the service contracts for analytical equipment.

Academic & Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Chemistry or related field

Skills & Competencies:

• Attention to detail.
• Problem solving.
• Able to plan, prioritise and manage workload in order to meet deadlines.
• Good communication skills.
• Intermediate level of IT skills i.e. work, excel or equivalent.
• Proactive attitude.
