UK Parking Control have an exciting opportunity for a Logistics Manager to join their team based in Beaconsfield.

Job Title: Logistics Manager

Location: Beaconsfield

Salary: £25,000 - £29,000 dependant on experience

Hours: 37.5 hours per week - Monday – Friday 9am – 5.30pm (1 hour lunch break)

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Buckinghamshire office in the role of Logistics Manager.  This role is predominantly office based however some travel is required.  The key purpose of this role is to support the business in ordering, delivery and installation of signage and permits for new and existing sites. In addition, you will be required to manage the sign team and their diary and plan work accordingly. You will be the company Health & Safety representative and ideally will be IOSH/NEBOSH qualified.

Logistics Manager - Duties & Responsibilities

  • To be centre of competence for all logistic jobs. 
  • To manage the sign installation team (3 people) on a daily basis and produce weekly work rotas.
  • Ensure team carry out duties including emailing photo’s daily, downloading photos and uploading into in-house systems for each specific site.
  • Complete risk assessments for each site, review and update Company H&S policy and method statement (annually)
  • Produce weekly reports detailing which sign jobs have been completed.
  • Provide weekly progress reports to company
  • Liaise with clients to verify information.
  • Work closely with sales team to ensure client requests are delivered
  • Act as project leader for any logistics projects
  • Ensure daily that all deliveries are logged and delivery notes filed
  • Maintain stock of equipment and consumables; ensure supplies do not run out.
  • Ensure that any consumables, supplies or equipment is sourced at the best price for the company (minimum annual tender review)
  • Ownership of company P&D function, including management of cash collections
  • Central co-ordination point for ANPR installations
  • Produce Health and Safety guideline documents for each role within company. (updated annually)
  • Utilise software provided to collate signage requests are scheduled efficiently
  • Complete H&S element of tender responses and supplier authorisation documents
  • Responsible for sign team uniform and equipment. Ensure appropriate clothing and footwear worn by team when working with signage.
  • Hold ‘tool box’ meetings to update sign team on new H&S requirements (document meetings)
  • Responsible for ensuring logistics team operate within the Health and Safety guidelines laid out for each role.
  • Ensure compliance by team in all areas
  • Ensure that sign team have a stock of signs, carry out regular stock audits.
  • Upload all required information to in-house system,
  • Where possible reuse old or surplus signage.
  • Carry out site visits when required
  • Organise all jobs in a manner that delivers efficiency of resource to contain costs and meet with client expectations.
  • Be the ‘gate keeper’ for information that leaves the sales team on new sites before going into the new site process within the admin team.
  • Highlight any errors in process from the sales team or sign team so they can be rectified on that occasion and in the future.
  • Carry out regular reviews of sign process and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Organise and chair quarterly Health & Safety meeting with Managing Director and H&S committee
  • Ensure company compliance in all work carried out and identify and act upon any information that could risk such compliance
  • To hold the role of Health & Safety Officer for UKPC
  • To ensure that UKPC obtain environmental accreditation

  • Previous H&S experience preferred however not essential
  • Hold a valid IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.  If not held, this can be obtained whilst working at the company
