The Company

Our client is a World-Famous Rolling Stock OEM who have seen significant growth in the UK market over recent years, winning contract after contract with UK TOCs and they need you to give them additional support. They are delivering to 4 (yes 4!!!) new customers over the next few years and require someone with your expertise to use all of your electrical fault-finding know how to ensure the trains can get out into public service on time. This is your chance to make yourself indispensable to this Prestigious organisation and add a seriously high-profile project to your CV!!

Your Role

As Test Technician, you will be responsible for taking the trains one by one from the production team and carrying out a structured, purpose written test plan in order to ensure that every single system on the train is in full working order before handing over to the Depot, ensuring the public can enjoy them ahead of schedule. Your fault-finding skills will be tested to the max and you will be expected to use technical drawings and schematics to rectify any issues and will take great satisfaction in being responsible for the introduction of such high-quality vehicles. You will use the skills you have acquired over the years to analyse faults around traction, braking, doors, AWS, PIS, DAS and even right down to the plug sockets in the carriages. You will be playing your part in introducing the most famous fleet in many years.

To be awarded this fantastic Test Technician contract you will need to demonstrate experience in electrical fault finding and rectification on high value capital equipment. Maybe you are an experienced Avionics Technician or have recently left the Forces. Maybe you have experience in the Nuclear sector or Oil & Gas and are looking for a break into Rail? Perhaps you are an experienced Rolling Stock Technician? Whichever category you fall in to you will need to be someone who takes responsibility seriously. You will back your experience up with a Full Apprenticeship, City & Guilds Level 3 or an NVQ Level 3 in an Electrical discipline and in return this World Famous organisation will provide you with all the relevant training you need to complete the tasks you are responsible for.

Your Reward

As the newest Test Technician, you will be rewarded with an initial 6-month contract paying over GBP25 per hour, and in addition to that, our client are offering a completion bonus of GBP2 for every hour worked. With the contracted hours at 50 per week (with potential for overtime on top) you can expect a lucrative deal.
