Software Support Engineer, Application Support, Software Support, gile Central, Rally, REST, LDAP, Jira, Atlassian. Software Engineer required for Barclays. The successful person will ideally come from a Software, software support or software development background and will have some experience in some or all of the above technologies

Responsible for the successful technical delivery of Project related change for Agile and Collaboration Tooling, to technology teams and users across all operating units. This should be to plan, agreed quality, design/architectural standards, and in line with Change Governance processes. This includes cross-team working, day-to-day deliverables and reporting both verbal and written to project management and product owners, using a variety of project delivery methodologies including Waterfall and Agile.

Risk and Control Objective

Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards

Person Specification

  • Strong product knowledge for Agile Planning and Collaboration tools (including, but not limited to products such as Agile Central (Rally), Confluence and Jira). This should include knowledge of how the tools are deployed, administered, and upgraded, including underlying Middleware and infrastructure components.
  • Experience Developing against common APIs (HTTP, REST, SOAP, LDAP, ODBC, COM etc)
  • Highly fluency in agile and lean based working practices and team environments.
  • Proficiency in technical authorship and technical training.
  • Practical experience of Object Oriented Scripting/development: Python, test-driven development, Windows batch programming and Shell Scripting.
  • Experience in administration and monitoring of Windows/Linux/DB systems, implementation of Nagios checks, use of Unix monitoring tools (sar, iostat, vmstat).
  • Practical experience of Object Oriented Scripting/development: Python, test-driven development, Windows batch programming and Shell Scripting.
  • A working knowledge of the banks policies and processes in relation to change governance, risk & control, and other relevant technology standards (as defined at HTTP://TechStandards)
  • Strong domain knowledge of software developer roles and responsibilities at Barclays across all business units.
