About the role
The Sales and Marketing department is primarily responsible for signing up young people to take part in the National Citizen Service (NCS) powered by The Challenge. NCS is a government backed programme that helps young people (age 15-17) build skills for work, life and transition into adulthood.
With support from a Sales Manager (SM) and Associate Sales Manager (ASM), the Sales Team Leader (STL) will lead a team of Engagement Co-ordinators (ECs) to find and place 15-17 year-olds into local NCS programmes within a wider geographical region.
This is a great opportunity to develop coaching and leadership skills; STLs will have a positive impact on the sales approach to engage young people.
The STLs primary responsibilities will be:
Building and maintaining effective relationships with schools, teachers and other youth led organisations
Exciting and persuading young people to sign up to NCS through presentations in assemblies, PSHE classes and follow up phone calls
Assist young people and their parents through the sign up process from initial expression of interest to turning up for the programme, primarily through phone calls
Defining and leading a local strategy for a geographical area to work in conjunction with the national marketing strategy
Ownership and responsibility of a geographical area
Working as part of a team towards individual and team targets
Coaching and mentoring members of the team and opportunities to train new starters
Contributing on impactful local projects, delivered on time to a high quality with notable improvements on prior year versions

This is a full-time position with a salary of GBP20,000 per annum. You will be required to work 35 hours a week adapted to fit departmental needs e.g. 9-5, 10-6, 11- 7. Early mornings and late evenings are required at different times of the year.
