This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing firm of accountants with offices located in Chelmsford.

Working within their Chelmsford office you would be joining a well-established team. The position reports into their Accounts Directors who is responsible for a large mixed, profitable portfolio. The successful candidate would work closely with and review the work produced by an experienced qualified accounts senior.
The team are a social bunch, think end of month drinks and various social events throughout the year.
Their newly renovated Chelmsford office is located 1 minutes' walk from the city centre.
The main purpose of the job role is to review work from a mixed client portfolio and deal with escalated accounts enquiries from the team, enabling her to focus on developing the practice and providing high end advice to clients. They see this opportunity perhaps suiting an individual who is currently working at supervisor or assistant manager level and is now looking for the next step in their career and more autonomy. Duties that accompany this role will include:
- Manage work flow within the team and attend planning meetings
- Dealing with a varied client portfolio (T/O up to GBP5million)
- Review a wide range of accounts - Limited, sole trader, partnership, LLP's etc
- Providing a management accounts service to clients to include forecasting and budgeting
- Finalising accounts under the overall control of the director
- Supporting the team with more complex accounts work e.g. intercompany transactions, FRS102 etc
- Build relationships with clients with a view to being their primary point of contact Attend client meetings on a regular basis
- Ensure work is completed within agreed time and budget
- Team management, identifying any training needs, ensuring cohesion amongst the close knit team
- Dealing with general incoming client queries and escalating when required

As the only Manager level individual with the office, you will need to be a great team player who leads by example and can work using commercial acumen and initiative. To really add value and complement the current team, you will need the following skills and attributes:-
- ACA or ACCA qualified with 3 - 5 Years experience within a practice environment
- Experience to include supervision, mentoring junior team members and having responsibility for managing a portfolio
- Up to date statutory accounts knowledge and sound accounting knowledge is required
- Experience of preparing management accounts (to include forecasting and budgeting)
- Must possess a client focused attitude and have proven experience of building and maintaining relationships with clients
- Experience of working with a variety of clients
