Tech Author - Aircraft

A Tech Author with Aircraft experience is required to work on a twelve month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our Defence client based in Lancashire.

This is a 12 Month contract with a leading UK defence company.

Overview of the Tech Author contract role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the creation and update of Aircraft Maintenance publications in accordance with the appropriate specifications, ASD STE100 (Simplified Technical English) and S1000D (International Specification for Technical Publications).

Key skills required for the Tech Author

• Previous experience as a Technical Author.
• Previously worked on aircraft in a maintenance, manufacturing or operational role.
• Must have suitable technical authoring skills. ie Knowledge and experience of S1000D specification, use of Simplified English, preferably experience of Framemaker or other SGML/XML authoring tools.
• Ex-military with aircraft operating experience would be beneficial.

The role is based in Lancashire - commutable from Preston, Blackpool, Chorley, Leyland, Blackburn, Darwen, Burnley, Skipton, Stockport, Manchester, Warrington, Wigan, Bolton, Bury, Rochdale and Oldham with excellent access from Liverpool, Lancaster and Leeds.
