Product Support Engineer

THE ROLE
- Providing reactive and proactive technical support in the form of answers to technical queries, lab investigation work, creating supporting documentation and providing train the trainer courses.
- Responding to global technical queries.
- Managing customers and customer issues within agreed time scales.
- Identifying needs for new documentation in the form of knowledgebase documents, technical bulletins and application notes.
- Ensuring technical documentation conforms to accepted standards.
- Investigating and resolving manufacturing support queries.
- Analysing and identifying suitable countermeasures for continuous product quality improvement.
- Lab testing to confirm product operation and set up for optimum performance.
- Visiting customer sites to resolve issues as and when required.
- Working with the project manager on the introduction of new products to manufacturing and customers.
- Providing train the trainer courses for new products.
- Ensuring the support website remains up to date.
- Helping to maintain the Web based diagnostics and other related sites/information.
THE CANDIDATE
- A minimum of 2 years variable speed drives experience.
- HNC/HND/Degree in Electronic or Electrical engineering or equivalent, essential.
- Electronic circuit basic appreciation relating to drive systems essential.
- Excellent communication skills (Written and Spoken English fluency essential).
- Motor, feedback device, fieldbus comms, CoDeSys programming, and other associated drive technology experience an advantage.
- Language skills an advantage.
