Established over 50 years ago, this company is one of the first Chinese supermarkets in the UK. They are now a landmark in London's vibrant and bustling Chinatown, supplying oriental foods to the growing cosmopolitan population in the Docklands area and beyond.

They are looking for a Store Manager to join their team at a leading Chinese Supermarket based in the London area. Working alongside the Store Deputy Manager, it will be your task to ensure the perfect running of their clients store on a day to day basis.

What you'll need

- Mandarin or Cantonese language skills essential

- Previous experience in an FMCG/ Food Retail environment essential

- Sound commercial judgement

- Planning and organisational skills, with the tenacity to see projects through to their conclusion

- The ability to provide the highest levels of customer service is paramount

- Comprehensive People management skills

- Oriental Food knowledge desirable

The Role

Through your strong leadership style and working with your store management team, you will take every opportunity to optimise your sales and margin across the store. Ensuring that you meet the needs of your core demand customers through a fit for purpose range, superb availability and one to one service.

Supported by robust auditable processes you will ensure that your store exceeds the expectations of both your customers and your staff. Your responsibilities will include:

- Achieving sales, stock, profit and cost targets including payroll and shrinkage, to deliver bottom line contribution in line with company budgets and targets.

- Establishing a fit for purpose marketing strategy that meets the demands of your current customers and actively recruits new customer.

- Building one to one relationships with key customers and stake holders through visits and consultations and maximising the opportunity to gain additional business.

- You will deliver an excellent store structure that ensures that you have the right people in the right place, taking into account business priorities, productivity models and budgetary constraints.

- Encouraging and supporting the store staff, offering help, support and guidance when needed.

- You will implement a performance management culture that is recognised by the management team as supportive and engaging, accelerating those individuals that demonstrate stretch potential and dealing with those individuals who are under performing.
