Due to continuing business success and growth Viridor now has a fantastic opportunity available for a Shift Team Leader to join their team in Dunbar.

What will I be responsible for?

As our Shift Team Leader, you will supervise and provide direction to the shift team at the Dunbar ERF site. On a daily basis this will involve:

• Planning, implementing and monitoring systems and processes through good practice to maximise the process and ensuring health, safety and environmental compliance on a 24 hour shift system.
• Becoming the Senior Authorised Person (SAP) complying with the Dunbar ERF Safe System of Work.
• Supervising of contractors when carrying out activities on site.
• Working as part of a team within the Operations Department when required and implement and carry out maintenance activities to ensure plant availability is maximised.
• Building and maintaining relationships with colleagues to ensure effective communication across the site. You will be required to be totally flexible and carry out other duties identified from time to time ensuring site objectives are achieved.

Who are we looking for?

As our ideal Shift Team Leader, you must possess both Engineering Qualifications (HNC or above) and also a safety qualification (preferably IOSH or NEBOSH). You will also require:

• Process or Power Plant experience
• Experience in safe systems of work, issuing Permits To Work / safety documentation and systems
• Knowledge of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems
• Good understand of environmental health & safety within a process or power industry
• Excellent communicational skills are required at all levels; both verbally and written. Ability to carry out team briefings, participate in detailed shift handovers and write concise reports

In return for your hard work as the Shift Team Leader, you can expect to receive a salary of between £44,739 - £50,000 per annum with a range of benefits.
