I am currently recruiting on behalf a leading Automotive OEM in the South East who are searching for a NVH Test Engineerto join their team on a full time contract basis

NVH Test Engineer
37.5 base hours per week
GBP20.84 per hour Ltd Co./ Umbrella
NVH Test Engineer
Division: POWERTRAIN
Location: Dunton
Position Description:
- This position is for a NVH Test Engineer to support Engineering activities in the PT NVH area.
- Responsibilities will be to complete NVH measurement and analysis of powertrains in a test environment. The position requires double day shift working (early and late).
Skills Required:
- Candidate will be required to complete the following;Complete physical testing of powertrain hardware to support development of powertrain NVH attributes.
- Conduct system level evaluations/appraisals and the preparation of supporting presentation material.
- Lead prototype build of dyno and rig testing for powertrain NVH attribute development.
- Support joint investigation (with Vehicle NVH, P/T NVH and Engine NVH Development Engrs) in terms of PT NVH issue resolution.
- Maintain powertrain NVH testing facilities complying with DEC Health and safety Rules & Regulations.
Additional Requirements;
- Data acquisition ( LMS Test.Lab / HEAD Artemis).
- Installation of test rigs and hardware
- Parts/hardware changes during development
- Maintenance and ordering of fuels to support testing.
- Test rig changes
- Engine/Transmission fault finding
- Data analysis, signal processing and reporting.
- Powertrain Bending FE/modal Correlation
- NVH assessment of subsystem components
- Audio Feedback of Powertrain Noise Modfil
- Torsional Vibration Measurement
- Gearbox Noise & Vibration Measurements
- FEAD/READ/Ancillary assessment
- Resonant Frequency Analysis
- Rig Testing
Skills Preferred:
- Candidates will find it advantageous to have some knowledge in any of the following areas:
- 1. Mechanical understanding
- 2. Testing experience
Experience Required:
- Test experience is desirable but it is equally as important that the applicant has a good engineering background and is able to apply themselves to problem solving within the NVH arena.
- Must be independent but able to work as part of a team, creative and flexible.
Experience Preferred:
- General office skills.
- Education Required: GCSE and/or A Levels or equivalent in Mathematics and English.
Information:
- Independent but able to work as part of a team, creative and flexible. Some overtime will be required.
