Occupational Therapist - Tenancy Sustainment Team

£27,648 - £31,142 per annum

37.5 hours per week

Our client is looking for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to work within their Tenancy Sustainment Team across North London.

The Tenancy Sustainment Team work with former rough sleepers across the whole of London who have moved into Rough Sleepers Initiative (RSI) accommodation after going through the Clearing House process. The role of the team is to provide floating support to enable clients in RSI accommodation to maintain their tenancies, in order to avoid eviction and a return to homelessness.

The post holder will be responsible for delivering and developing the Occupational Therapy provision for clients with a history of homelessness and complex needs. You will receive support from the Lead Occupational Therapist and Team leader, working within a team of senior support workers and support workers.

This post will provide the opportunity to develop a range of assessment, therapeutic skills and interventions including: use of standardized OT assessments; individual and group focused interventions; OT specific therapies focusing on leisure, self-care and vocational work; supporting successful community living and ultimately enabling clients to progress from needing tenancy support and live independently. You will have the opportunity to continue to develop skills in working with physical, mental health needs and substance abuse.

There are excellent training and development opportunities as well as the opportunity to forge links with other OTs working within the homeless sector, both statutory and non-statutory.
