Job Title: Senior Applications Engineer
Job Location: Farnham, Surrey, UK or Troy, MI, US or Oakland, CA, US or Shanghai, China
Job Salary: GBP50k-GBP60k for UK, up to $100 in US, and up to $130k in MI (dependent upon experience)
Main duties & responsibilities as the Senior Applications Engineer
The Applications Engineer will take ownership of projects and provide both project management and technical liaison support to ensure their success. As part of a small team in a growing business, they will be a proactive self-starter comfortable working cross-discipline in an international environment and able to juggle multiple projects and priorities with minimal supervision.
They will be primarily based at the clients offices either in England, Michigan or California with frequent travel within the country and worldwide, particularly China, the EU and US.
Key responsibilities as the Senior Applications Engineer
Key responsibilities for the role include, although are not limited to, the following:
- Ownership of customer project deliverables and relationships.
- Liaison between international teams, customers and suppliers.
- Technical support for pre-sales and commercial activities.
- Generation of technical materials, processes and documentation.
- Customer technical support, fault-finding and commissioning/calibration support.

Minimum:
- Good technical degree in engineering or science
- 6+ years' experience in automotive engineering
- Full driving license
- Fluent in English
Desirable:
- In-depth technical experience of relevant vehicle technologies (see examples on P2)
- Experience applying project formal management methods such as PRINCE2 or Agile.
- Experience using IT solutions such as CRM, Project, SharePoint, JIRA, Trac, etc.
- Second language (ideally Mandarin-Chinese or European languages).
