We are looking for a Health and Safety Advisor to join a large London based engineering project focussed on cleaning up the River Thames through the installation of a large underwater tunnel.
This project requires an experienced Marine Health, Safety and Wellbeing specialist to assist in the development, maintenance and continual improvement of the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Management System throughout the life of the project.
You will have responsibility for conducting audits of our Main Works Contractors (MWCs) to ensure that risk control processes are effective, compliant and setting transformational standards in the wider industry. This role will play an integral part in shaping the way Health and Safety is managed throughout the life of the project.
We are looking for someone with a mix of the following;
- Experience of working on a major civil infrastructure project.
- Experience of working within a marine environment in a Health Safety and Wellbeing related role.
- Experience of conducting audits and inspections, whilst working within defined management systems
- Good Working knowledge of applicable Health Safety and Wellbeing legislation / best practice. Specifically: CDM 2015, Merchant Shipping and Fishing Vessels (Health and Safety) Regulations 1997 and PLA COP: Safe Mooring of Vessels on the Thames and the International Code of Safety
- Ability to exercise sound judgement in complex situations.
- Demonstrates a collaborative and engaging style of working with stakeholders, also project team members
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce documents with a high level of accuracy.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages
Education and qualifications
Essential
- NEBOSH Diploma or Equivalent.
- Grad / Chartered IOSH.
Desirable
- Maritime and Offshore Training Qualifications
- Internal / Lead Auditor Qualifications
