The Workplace Benefits Corporate Distribution Business Development team has undergone a period of change adapting to the changing Workplace Savings market. In order to align ourselves more closely with the wider market we are now recruiting a telephone based Business Development Manager to work alongside our team of face to face Business Development Directors.

The role will be responsible for maximising profitable new Workplace Benefits business, including traditional bundled, corporate savings platform, investment-only and new joint ventures through the provision of expert technical sales. Acting as the 'senior professional' to lead relationships with designated Tier 3 Corporate Advisers/EBCs and corporate clients, maximising profitable new Workplace Benefits Business from the wider 'Tier 3 account' model and contributing to the development of Aviva's Workplace Benefits proposition and sales strategy.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Part of the team responsible for multi million pound financial targets, owning a personal target as defined by the Head of Business Development.
- Lead the relationship management position through effective relationships with designated panel of Tier 3 Corporate Advisers/EBCs, primarily via the phone, though with potential for some face to face.
- Matrix managing a transversal team to co-ordinate Corporate's overall relationship with designated Intermediaries.
- Maintain or enhance Aviva's panel position with each designated Tier 3 Corporate Adviser/EBC across all selected product lines to ensure inclusion in new provider searches.
- Identify and develop profitable relationships with Tier 3 accounts operating in the large scheme market, outside designated panel, primarily via the telephone.
- Personally lead the negotiation and closure of profitable new business deals up to board level in order to maximise commercial advantage including tender management, beauty parades, site visits and client meetings (primarily via the telephone).
- Personally own the end to end sales process, i.e. from receipt of tender, through assessment of the opportunity, potential pitch/beauty parade, site visit and win to delivery to BAU.
- Fully engage all relevant internal stakeholders on each designated Tier 3 Corporate Advisers/EBCs strategy and manage delivery through them. Fully co-ordinate all dealings with each designated Tier 3 Corporate Adviser/EBC and the wider Aviva business as appropriate.
- Build and maintain excellent, primarily telephone based, working relationships, and represent Aviva externally with identified third parties and professional bodies to ensure that Aviva is always considered a thought leader in the corporate market.
- Build and agree with designated Tier 3 Corporate Advisers/EBCs joint Key Account Plans reflecting the strategies of both organisations.
- Lead the development and delivery of innovative strategic solutions for designated Tier 3 Corporate Advisers/EBCs which also maximise commercial advantage to Aviva.
- Work collaboratively with the Business Development Directors to support larger and more complex opportunities where required, share knowledge, provide first line support during periods of absence etc.

The person:

- Expert influencer and negotiator both over the phone and face to face with the ability to present Aviva's credentials at all levels up to and including board level of Corporate Advisers and EBCs large corporates.
- Ability to effectively segregate both Corporate Adviser /EBC relationships and direct approaches without compromising either approach.
- Ability to operate at both a strategic and practitioner level with Corporate Advisers/EBCs.
- Advanced consulting skills with the ability to win and implement new business on a direct basis.
- Recognised gravitas and business acumen within internal and external networks.
- Financial analysis skills; understanding of profit drivers.
- Strong networking skills demonstrated through personal profile within Aviva (at all levels), designated Corporate Advisers/EBCs and client forums.
- Understanding of internal project management processes and governance.
