Brewster Pratap are working in partnership with our client in the Worksop area. This is an exciting Head Office opportunity for a skilled Data Analyst ready to take the next step in their career. The role would suit an experienced Data Analyst, Insight Analyst, Retail Analyst or similar who can easily commute to Worksop from areas of Worksop, North Notts, Retford, Mansfield, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield. The role is easily accessible from the A1.
THE JOB:
The job of Data Analyst involves working in a retail Head Office environment, joining a highly visible and important team who support all areas of the business to achieve their potential through accurate analysis of market trends, competitor sales, sales down to product line and category detail and advising the business on actionable insights. Areas of responsibility will include:
- Analysing pricing positions within the business and the wider market
- Assisting the trading team in resolving pricing issues
- Reviewing agency market share data - analysing and creating reports to distill this information and insights from it across the business
- Working closely with data agencies, building relationships and ensuring requests are delivered accurately and on time
- Working on A/B Testing, statistical regression analysis, developing test and learn strategies
- Assisting in the development of a suite of weekly reports and ad hoc reports
- Assisting in the the design and development and then ongoing management of a central key insights database - easy to access and use for the rest of the business
- Taking the lead in internal meetings with trading teams to advise on pricing, product sales and key use of in store/website space to optimise sales
- Ensuring the business uses digital marketing results in the best way possible - social media, digital advertising and online conversion
- Assist in the measurement of return on investment using industry leading econometrics techniques
- Working closely with new store and existing store teams to help maximise sales based on in depth analysis of sales data
- Attending meetings to represent the Data Insight team at high level sales meetings often with the CFO and CEO - as such you need to be able to easily explain your findings and make recommendations in board level meetings using your strong communication skills
THE PERSON:
- Previous experience in an analytics role or similar, ideally in a retail head office or consumer goods environment
- Ability to work with a wide range of internal stakeholders at all levels up to board of Directors
- Demonstrates a strong awareness of the retail market - from a customer and competitor perspective
- Strong listening and verbal skills to be able to guide, advise and input in meetings
- Commercial in outlook and understands the current business challenges within retail
- Ability to manage own time, workload and multi-task under pressure with strict time constraints
- Advanced user of Excel essential, VBA advantageous
- Experience of using database and information portal technologies and 'slice and dice' reporting tools, e.g. SQL, Qlikview, Tableau, Alteryx
- Experience in econometrics, segmentation and behavioural modelling preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- There is a requirement to stay away from home in this role and as such you should be comfortable with this and have the ability to travel around the UK.
