JOB TITLE: Process Engineer
LOCATION: Stockton-On-Tees
TYPE: 12 month contract
RATE: Competitive

A Process Engineer job opportunity is now available for a leading chemical company based in Stockton-On-Tees.

As Process Engineer you will maximise the effectiveness and availability of a world-scale chemical plant, striving for its optimal performance by advising the Process teams on operating conditions.

Proactively identifying, evaluating and developing process improvements. Manage the commissioning of projects and lead small plant-based improvement projects. Approving and assessing operational and plant changes against current Safety, Health & Environmental requirements and against appropriate company and site engineering standards.

Responsibilities

- Take an active leading role in all aspects of assigned process areas, projects and operations supporting activities.
- Identifying, developing and implementing opportunities to improve process and operational safety, plant availability and its reliability.
- To identify, develop and implement initiatives to allow plant operations to be optimised with respect to throughput, quality, operating costs and maintenance.
- To evaluate and develop process improvement ideas and where appropriate lead improvement projects and manage their commissioning and process implementation.
- To lead and/or participate in any appropriate risk assessments and process safety reviews, providing operational and technical expertise as necessary.
- To take an active role, as required, in liaising with customers, suppliers, agencies and other 3rd parties
- To ensure operations personnel are fully trained and validated by providing technical input into training programmes and into new procedures
- To deputise, as required, for the Plant Manager

Education/Experience
-Degree or equivalent in Chemical Engineering
-Chartered or working towards
-Minimum 5 years relevant experience in an ISO9000 and COMAH regulated environment.
