Purpose:

As part of our continued growth in the renewables advisory sector, OST are pleased to present a position for Project Engineer to support our clients in the development of new wind farms from our Brighton and/or London office. The position will be a part of the growing Wind Division which offers technical advisory services to onshore and offshore wind farm developers, lenders, owners, etc.

The role will primarily involve working on construction management in the onshore wind sector acting on behalf of our clients with the development, construction, and operation of projects. Initially assignments will be in the UK, but travel abroad will be increasingly required as the business grows.

Responsibilities:

- Act on behalf of lender / investor to oversee all works conducted by construction team, including contractors, sub-contractors, and associated interfaces
- Ensure high standards of Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality are obtained, with particular attention to the safety policy, quality plan, environmental plan, and contractual specifications
- Ensuring proactive and effective communication is maintained within the internal team and between stakeholders to deliver client requirements
- Working with designers and consultants to ensure the timely production of all designs, specifications and drawings required for construction of the works, including any necessary specification of temporary works
- Prepare and submit budget estimates and progress and cost tracking reports
- Develop and implement quality control programs
- Evaluate construction methods and determine cost-effectiveness of plans
- Risk management, including construction, operational, and financial risk
- Preparing and maintaining the construction budget and producing subsequent forecasts of costs to completion
- Preparation of proposals and reports, and interacting with potential clients
- Business development and contribution to the overall growth of the company
- Assist with and/or conduct any other necessary aspects of a project that fall within the discipline of construction management
- Pull together and run with Civil specifications and negotiations for BOP contracts, including compliance with UK and EU regulations
- Confirm the works comply with UK and EU regulations.
