An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the multi professional non-medical prescribing team in the Department of Nursing and Midwifery at the University of the West of England.

We have excellent formal and informal learning spaces, outstanding laboratories, superb simulation facilities including high fidelity manikins and acute hospital wards, virtual laboratories and scenarios, a VERT suite for radiography and a simulation house. Our facilities provide excellent opportunities for the demonstration and practice of professional competencies for all students.

The Faculty has a vibrant research culture, organised around four University Centres of Excellence The Centre for Appearance Research, The Centre for Health and Clinical Research, The Centre for Research in Biosciences and the Science Communication Unit; and three research groups in Psychological Sciences; Social Sciences; and Public Health and Wellbeing. In addition, we work with colleagues across the University in our Institute of Bio-sensing Technology and the Health Technology Hub in the University Enterprise Zone. Our work makes world-leading contributions to the global academic community and society, as well as enhancing the quality of our teaching and the student experience.

This is a one year fixed term post to cover maternity leave, and is part time for three days a week, to allow for flexibility in supporting programme delivery.

You will join a visionary Department; we are therefore seeking an innovative, inspiring and adaptable individual who will integrate into a successful non-medical prescribing team. The aim to help support the delivery of non-medical prescribing educational programmes across the South West in multiple locations.

The Department of Nursing and Midwifery with the programme team work closely with healthcare practice partners to provide a high quality student experience and provide education to help transform the healthcare workforce across the South West. Knowledge of current government drivers for workforce planning and transformation is essential to help underpin current and future curriculum development and to ensure that the vision and creativity of the Department is enriched.

Integral to this are activities, which enhance the student experience through innovative teaching, learning and assessment strategies. You will provide both pre and post registration education and must have the flexibility to adapt to differing student groups.

You must be registered healthcare professionals and hold a first degree and non-medical prescribing qualification. You must also be committed to professional development and will be expected to engage in research activities, external networks and develop themselves as an academic through personal research and knowledge exchange activities.

Home to UWE's Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences, Glenside Campus offers excellent teaching facilities, these include a selection of inter-professional simulation suites, enabling students to practice and develop professional competencies, and one of the best health care libraries in England.
