We are an Independent Specialist College (and a charity) that provides for individuals with a range of learning difficulties.
We are currently recruiting for: Waking Night Staff with On Call Shifts
Overall purpose of the job
To provide the students supervision and support throughout the night and to provide on call cover at all Homefield sites as required.
Core duties
Waking Night Work
Supervise/support students, as appropriate, to include:
- Providing continual monitoring of the students and responding appropriately to their needs.
- Walking the building on an hourly basis to check that everything is in order, or more frequently, as necessary.
- Undertaking washing and ironing, as required.
- Undertaking domestic duties as indicated on the job sheet, in order to ensure a clean and safe environment for all students.
- Contacting the on-call person, if there is a necessity.
- Any other reasonable duties allocated by a senior member of staff.
- The provision, as required, of written information on students' behaviour and communication, implementing strategies and techniques as stated on behaviour plans.
- Contributing positively to a high quality teaching and learning environment
- Any other duties as required
On call work - To provide on call cover between 18.00 and 8.00
- To be on call from 18.00 to 8.00 on shifts indicated through a 4 week rolling rota (if not called out still paid)
- To respond to calls from staff for support, either physically or verbally (depending on need) between the above hours
- To respond to calls from staff with regard to safeguarding alerts and to manage them as per specific training
- To cover staff absence and gaps during the timeframe above to the maximum amount of 10 hours per on call shift
- To communicate where required with the secondary on call staff
- To manage any emergencies as per training
