The purpose of this role is to develop and deliver the business plan for a functional element of the Youth Service Business & Operations team. This practitioner role is to work with identified young people to overcome specific issues and barriers and therefore support access to universal services. They will contribute to the development of a good quality targeted service for young people.
The post holder will work with colleagues in other services and key partners such as schools and colleges to ensure the best possible outcomes for young people. The post will have a responsibility to support the development of targeted aspects of youth work within a cost recoverable model.
To provide in depth, planned, one to one and group support through positive activities for young people with various issues, working at their pace to help them address barriers to education, training, employment and positive activity opportunities, and to enable them to fulfil their potential and access universal services. This is a role working with a range of agencies e.g. Education, Health, Social Services and Youth Offending Service, and is key to delivering a targeted Youth Service in Essex.
As part of employment with Essex County Council should your role require a DBS check you will be required to register with the DBS update service. The DBS update service ensures all registered DBS certificates are kept up to date and allows authorised parties to view the status of your certificate.
