UK Financial Controller needed based in Peterborough but frequent travel required.
Job purpose:
Responsible for the efforts and results of the financial and commercial accounting department. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in regards to all financial and accounting activities. Overseeing financial department employees in day-to-day operations.
Skills required:
* Qualified accountant (Ideally ACA) - Bachelor's degree or master's degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or a related field.
* Significant experience in a business or finance environment.
* Good knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS requirements Personal Characteristics.
* Possesses high attention to detail and strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills Adapt communication methods and style to manage contact with a wide range of customers as well as internal and external stakeholders; has the ability to manage conflict effectively and negotiate win: win solutions to problems.
* Calculates the impact of approach on others and presents well-balanced arguments in order to influence others.
* Initiates the development of strong working relationships across the business, proactively sharing information and ideas with others.
* Displays attributes that inspire people and engenders feelings of trust; builds morale and lives the company's values.
* Sets clear, specific, and challenging but achievable development goals for direct reports.
* Deals effectively with performance problems.
