Due to expansion of a new home, a great opportunity for motivated Support Workers has arisen. THE ROLE: As a Support Worker your role will be to help each client achieve their full potential through support with their daily activities, personal care needs and in providing emotional support. You will be committed to working positively in supporting people with a range of complex needs including; Learning disabilities, physical disabilities, challenging behaviour, non- verbal communication and/or autistic spectrum disorders.
Our client has full-time and part-time positions available which incorporate working weekend and evening shifts on a rotating basis.
Key Responsibilities for the Support Worker's role in Kirkby in Ashfield (near Mansfield), Nottinghamshire include:
To work as a full and effective member of the staff team, communicating effectively and efficiently with colleagues and other staff.
To offer support to service users on an individual basis consistent with the aims and objectives of the service and the wider organisation.
To undertake flexible working arrangements in accordance with the service users needs and service requirements which includes, weekends, evenings, waking nights and sleep-in duties.
To contribute in the planning, delivery and reviewing of care plans as agreed with each service user, and assume designated keyworker responsibilities where required.
To act as an enabler for service users, not 'doing for' the user but 'doing with' the user wherever possible.
THE CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate for the Support Workers role must have a NVQ level 2 or be committed to working towards this (training will be funded by the employer). You must be a naturally caring and compassionate person who is genuinely committed to understanding and supporting people with a range of complex needs including; Learning disabilities, physical disabilities, challenging behaviour, non-verbal communication and/or autistic spectrum disorders. You must be flexible with the hours you can work as will be required to work occasional weekends and evenings and must live within or be able to commute to Kirkby in Ashfield. All positions are subject to satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service - paid by employer).
Key Experience/ Characteristics preferred for the Support Worker's role in Kirkby in Ashfield (near Mansfield), Nottinghamshire :-
Must have a NVQ level 2 in Health & Social care or must be committed to working towards this
